Head of Iran Expo Organizing Committee:

Iran Expo’s Strategic Role in Showcasing Iran’s National Brand and Elevating the Country’s Position in the Global Value Chain

...

The Head of the Iran Expo Organizing Committee emphasized that in a world where economic competition knows no borders and countries race to win minds and markets, Iran Expo can play a strategic role in presenting Iran’s national brand and strengthening the country’s position in the global value chain.

Majid Takbiri stated that Iran Expo is held with the aim of showcasing the nation’s export capabilities and attracting foreign investment. He added: “One of the defining features of this year’s Iran Expo was its strong focus on non-oil exports and emerging industries. Given the country’s economic conditions, we designed the event in a way that maximizes business interactions. The growth in commercial engagement reflects both the increasing appeal of the exhibition and the improving economic climate.”

Highlighting the progress made in recent editions, Takbiri noted: “Based on our assessments, Iran Expo has witnessed major improvements. With the surge in visitor numbers, higher export volumes, greater diversity of participating countries, and the integration of new technologies, it is evident that Iran Expo 2025 outperformed last year’s edition. This positive trajectory signals a promising outlook for Iran’s economy and its international trade relations.”

The head of the organizing committee further explained that in 2024 (Iranian year 1403), the sixth edition of the Exhibition of Export Capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran was held on a larger scale, bringing together more than 500 Iranian companies and around 2,400 foreign traders from approximately 94 countries. These figures increased even further in the 2025 edition held this year.

Takbiri underscored that Iran Expo 2025, with the participation of 3,100 traders from over 110 countries, projected a new image of Iran to the world. He said: “Expo 2025 was more than just a trade fair — it was a symbol of real synergy between the government and the private sector in advancing non-oil exports.”

Over 3,000 Invitations Issued to International Traders

Referring to the unprecedented interest from domestic companies in Iran Expo 2025, Takbiri said: “More than 1,200 leading export companies from six product groups registered for participation. Unfortunately, due to space limitations, only about 800 companies could be accommodated, leaving 400 export companies unable to participate.”

On the international side, over 4,300 traders registered to attend. However, due to limited hotel capacity in Tehran, invitations were issued to more than 3,000 traders — the vast majority of whom arrived in Tehran, representing more than 110 countries.

Takbiri added that this year’s exhibition hosted 36 ministers—including ministers of trade, commerce, and industry—24 deputy ministers, 30 presidents of chambers of commerce, and 98 presidents of specialized trade associations. He noted that this level of high-profile participation reflects the significance and credibility of the event: “Many of these delegations came to Tehran with the explicit goal of signing agreements. Compared to last year, the quality and scale of international engagement clearly demonstrate growing interest in Iranian goods in global markets. This shows that Iranian products are both competitive and in demand internationally.”

Takbiri concluded by saying that Iran Expo 2025 was more organized than previous years: “This was evident in the opening ceremony as well as in the B2B (business-to-business), G2G (government-to-government), and B2G (business-to-government) meetings, all of which were conducted with greater order and efficiency. Visitors could see the energy and activity of the exhibition, but everything was more coordinated and structured.”
